Shoppers looking to sell mobile phones may find themselves targeted by a new marketing campaign from HTC.

The company, which is responsible for devices like the Touch, Magic and Hero, has announced details of a new strategy that aims to address the fact people want a more personalised gadget experience.

It is hoped the Quietly Brilliant television and print initiative will raise the company’s profile as a provider of smartphone solutions that deliver a tailor-made option for buyers.

John Wang, chief marketing officer of the corporation, said: “Quietly Brilliant is doing great things in a humble way, with the belief that the best things in life can only be experienced, not explained.”

The HTC Hero was recently launched on 3 Mobile, with the carrier announcing it would be available as part of a package that comes with premium access to the Spotify music streaming service.

Selling used mobiles could be an option for those tempted to fund the new BlackBerry Bold 9700.

Research In Motion (RIM) announced this week that the follow up to the 9000 version of the device would be available soon and took the opportunity to detail some of the features buyers could expect.

Following on from the announcement that the firm would launch a sequel to the BlackBerry Storm, it was advised that the Bold 9700 would come equipped with 3G HSDPA support and a 624 MHz internal processor.

In addition, the firm has included 256 MB of internal Flash memory with the device which is expandable via a microSD card, while a 3.2-megapixel camera, GPS and Wi-Fi are also built-in.

Mike Lazaridis, RIM’s president and co-chief executive officer, said the device offer “new, state-of-the-art features and a smaller, lighter and highly optimised design”.

Vodafone has since announced that it will support the smartphone when it hits stores.
